Existing Stock in the Industrial Market
As at Q4 2012, Singapore has 424.4 million sq ft

of industrial space, a 2.8% increase from Q4 2011. Majority
(87%, 369.5 million sq ft) of the industrial space is owned by the private sector, while the remaining is owned
by the public sector. The focus of this report will be on private factory

and warehouse space.
Private single-user factory forms majority of the industrial space in Singapore, followed by private multiple-
user factory and private warehouse space (Figure 1.2).

Majority of the private factory (4%) and warehouse space (60%) is located in the West Region, mainly at
Jurong and Tuas industrial estates.
3.0 Private Factory Space
3.1
Existing Supply
Total private factory stock was 290.7 million sq ft as at end 2012, up by 3.0% from 282.1 million sq ft in 2011.
This was lower compared with the average annual stock growth rate of 3.6% over the past decade. Notably,
a considerable number of business parks were completed in 2012 such as UE BizHub East and One@Changi
City, with private business park space growing by 9.8% in 2012. The major factory completions in 2012 are
summarised in Table 1.4.
